技術摘要

An automated labeling and inspection system for vehicle wheel rim. The system consisted of an operation platform, a raw material extraction device, a label extract-and-paste device, and a vision-based inspection system. Wheel rims are transferred to the operation region of the operation platform, which is responsible for the holding and rotating action of the rim. Raw materials consisting of more than one label are extracted and fixed by the raw material extraction device. A label is extracted at a time by the extract-and-paste device. By the cooperation of the operation platform and the extract-and-paste device, the extracted label can be pasted on the desired place of the rim, after the label is pasted. A quality inspection of the label is executed by the vision-based inspection system.

現有技術描述、現有技術問題及其缺陷描述

Before the wheel rims are packed and exported to the market, especially the bicycle rims, different sizes, shape, color, and materials of labels are always pasted on different places of the products as identification or decoration. As our best knowledge, such labeling process is completed by workers, there are some disadvantages, workers cannot work without rest. As a result, the cost will be raised due to the employment of workers. It takes around 30 seconds to finish pasting one label, for a product which 8 labels have to be pasted, every worker can only finish 120 products a day, low productivity is also an issue. The non-uniform operation time will lead poor time management too.

本技術發明目的、所欲解決之問題、能提昇的功效

An automated wheel rim labeling and inspection system is proposed. By integrating the labeling device and the vision-based quality inspection system, the automated labeling process is accomplished to improve the productivity of the manufacturing industry.
